Paradox Opera Voice Lesson Scholarship

At Paradox Opera, we believe that high-quality vocal training should be accessible to everyone—regardless of financial means.

That’s why we’ve created the Paradox Opera Voice Lesson Scholarship, a program designed to support aspiring and emerging vocalists by covering part or all of their lesson fees with experienced, compassionate teachers.

This scholarship is not just about learning to sing—it’s about making space for every voice to be heard.

Scholarship Guidelines

    • Open to students of all ages and experience levels who demonstrate a commitment to vocal study

    • Applicants must express financial need

    • Students must already have been working with a teacher from Paradox Opera’s list of approved instructors for at least 3 months (exceptions may be considered on a case by case basis)

    • Scholarships are awarded on a 1-6 month basis

    • Scholarship funded lessons are not eligible for make-up lessons if studio cancellation policies are not followed. (Scheduling policies will vary based on teacher)

    • Students may re-apply as many times as needed

    • Awards may cover full or partial lesson costs, depending on available funding and individual circumstances

    • Students who receive partial funding will still receive an invoice from their individual lessons teacher reflecting the discounted rate, Paradox Opera will subsidise the rest

    • Applicants must complete the scholarship application form

    • A short statement of intent (detailing musical goals and financial need) is required

    • Teacher recommendation may be requested

    • Applications will be reviewed by the Paradox Opera Scholarship Committee and awarded on a rolling basis

    • Maintain consistent attendance for lessons

    • Show dedication to vocal development and practice

    • Participate in occasional performance or outreach fundraiser opportunities as available

    • Scholarship recipients must submit a renewal application if seeking continued support

    • Progress evaluations may be required for renewal consideration

Become a PXO Teaching Artist

Are you a voice teacher with an active studio who has performed with Paradox Opera? We’d love to have you join our scholarship team. Teaching Artists in the program are featured on our site and receive scholarship-funded students.

Help us lift up the next generation of singers by donating to the Paradox Opera Voice Lesson Scholarship Fund. Your contribution goes directly toward lesson fees for students who are passionate about learning but may not have the means to access private vocal instruction.
